Lucinda Throckmorton-Jones from Almost Heaven is Elizabeth's duenna, which is someone who helps a young lady transition into adult upper society. She blames herself for Elizabeth's 'fall' and does what she can to mitigate the fall out. She also plays matchmaker with Elizabeth's Uncle to try and make a suitable match. In the end, she realizes that Ian and Elizabeth were destined to be together and tries to bring them together.
