What identifying symbol is used by the Factionless in the novel, Allegiant?

The Factionless create an armband as an identifying symbol. This allows them to supposedly identify who is on their side. This is reminiscent of several regimes in our historical past where a militaristic government has taken control and forced this type of identification on the masses.
