Imagery:

"I step out of the car, knees creaking from overuse on the track. It's colder than I expect . . . Scattered green brush grows at the top of the hill and thins as the shore slopes. The sand is orange. The shore is short. High tide. A film of skim rolls back into the inky sea" (25).
