How did the Grooves attain their home in the novel, All the Impossible Things?

The Grooves inherited their house from Celine’s mom and have not had time to do much decorating. It is eclectic with a lot of books and plants. Red’s room is normal and plain, and Celine is willing to help her decorate it. There is a large oak tree outside of Red's window.
