Who was the inspiration for Stephen's JSPS card in the novel, All the Devils Are Here?

Zora was one of the few Jews who survived Auschwitz. Because she had no family left and nowhere to go, Armand’s father sponsored her to go to his home in Montréal. Zora did not like Stephen. She was distrustful of him because he was German. She referred to him as being just some poor schmuck, the inspiration for his JSPS card.
