Who is Thierry Girard in the novel, All the Devils Are Here?

Thierry Girard appears to be the one who carried out the orders that Stephen and Plessner be killed. He had not counted on Stephen surviving the hit by the delivery van. Girard had once been Dussault’s second in command, but he left the police department to work for the private firm SecurForte. He was drawn in by the promise of more money. Girard believes that he has convinced Dussault of the benefits of private service when Dussault begins moonlighting with SecurForte. Dussault was infiltrating SecurForte in an attempt to find out what GHS was hiding. Girard is the one who bought the cologne for Dussault.
