What is the denouement in the novel, All the Devils Are Here?

The denouement comes when it is revealed that Annie’s baby is born healthy, but has Down’s Syndrome. Also, when Stephen is taken off life support, he strengthens to the point he is able to leave the hospital and go home with Armand and Reine-Marie to Three Pines.
