What is the climax in the novel, All the Devils Are Here?

The climax comes when Daniel is kidnapped and held hostage by Dussault and Girard. Armand is forced to hurry and find the evidence that Stephen had to save his son. When Armand does arrive back at Stephen’s apartment there is a shoot-out after which the reader believes Armand and Dussault have both been killed and Daniel is about to die.
