Who is Anna in the book, All of the Women of the Bible?

Anna met Jesus personally. At the time she was elderly, or at least ripe in middle age. She was a bit of Hebrew scholar in that she was well versed in the prophecies of the people. Given that, at some point, she was the first to openly declare recognition of Jesus as the Christ - the Messiah as had been prophesied. She is mentioned twice in the book.
