The cabin is located in a remote area of the Pacific Northwest. It is almost as if Jamie's mother had set out to create a post-pandemic hideaway, complete with solar power, a wood stove, and water from a well. When Andrew arrives, Jamie has already been alone for a long time. He still has a lot of food, including meat in a freezer. A notable feature is the gnome at the front porch. Jamie seems content to stay here, but he readily gives it up in order to remain with Andrew.
