How is Juniper High School described in the novel, All My Rage?

Juniper High is a bleak place: “massive, but not in a shiny-TV-high-school kind of way. It’s a bunch of long cinder block buildings with doors on each end and nothing but dirt between them … Everything is a dusty, sand-blasted white” (8 – 9). The school is thus the desert itself in microcosm, lacking greenery, freshness and sparkle.
