In Chapter 23, Jenny places all her worries in a pretend bag, a bag of garbage. She places this pretend bag in the trunk of Sean's car and allows him to dump them for her. The metaphorical practice of "getting rid of the garbage" is very healing for Jenny and builds a very strong bond with Sean as her protector.
