After the folding of Greta's magazine and David's failing music career, both of them take Sigrid to a house in New Hampshire left by a relative of Greta. The place is cold and distant, emblematic of the family's relationship. Once they move there, Andrea tries to keep as much distance as possible, since going there would mean having to take part in their sadness. However, once she does go there to confront Sigrid's death, she is able to tap into the family's collective emotions and is finally one with them.
