Cecelia's relationship with her parents, Nicky and Juliette, is filled with tension and anxiety. She feels that her parents try too hard to avoid conflict and should have stood up for her during the incident with Katherine. She also feels that they are not involved enough in her life, and suffers from feelings of abandonment and isolation in general.
