Why is Einstein so enthused to meet Dr. Albert Michelson in California?

Michelson's experiment with light waves are part of the basis for Einstein's theories, and so Einstein regards Michelson as an inspiration. It is likely that Einstein thinks of Michelson as a personal hero and is no doubt anxious to speak to the man about their common interests.
