Why is Einstein happier at Princeton University than he is at previous appointments?

Einstein appreciates the more informal setting at the Institute for Advanced Study. In Europe, the professorships are usually government jobs, as the universities are government operated; being a government official demands more dignity and importance than being a regular professor at Princeton.
