Why does Einstein finally decide to settle in America?

Einstein feels that all of Europe is probably unsafe for him, especially since the Nazi party puts a price on his head: $5000 for anyone who assassinates him. In America, he thinks he is out of Nazi reach and safely outside political instability that is sweeping through Europe.
