Elsa knows Einstein since childhood, as his little sister's close friend, and is therefore not particularly impressed with him; the fame that comes with his theories means little to her, as she still thinks of him as the awkward boy she always knows. She is proud of him, but still practical and knows that for all his genius, he still needs someone to run his home and ensure that he leaves the house looking presentable.
