Einstein is very concerned about the political climate, given the murder of a politician who is his friend. It is generally thought that the man is murdered not only because he is too liberal for the upcoming government but because he is Jewish; Einstein worries that anti-Semitism continues to spread until any religious or political minority is persecuted.
