What metaphors are used in Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko?

Choldenko does not use metaphor in the novel, as her characters are mostly twelve year old children. Because of this, most of the language is language they might use, rather than language filled with metaphor and other literary flourishes.
