Who is Mr. Alper from After Ever After and what is their importance?

Mr. Alper is Jeffery's father. He is an accountant and is in pain at seeing Jeffery struggle in math. Mr. Alper is greatly disappointed that Jeffery doesn't want his help studying. Once Jeffery realizes this is the case, he asks his father for help and Mr. Alper is very happy.
