Which of the two boys is smarter, Tom or Huck?

The two boys are both intelligent, albeit in different ways. Tom is often too smart for his own good, and his impetuousness tends to get him into some real trouble. Huck, more often than not, follows his heart and his conscience..... he gets into trouble too. Thus, I couldn't tell you which of the boys is smarter, and although, Huck seems to have a bit more common sense..... he still goes along with Tom's ridiculous plans.
