The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn would have been a far different novel is told from Jim's persective. Jim was on the run.... he was a wanted man, a runaway slave. Being caught wouldn't have meant merely being sent home. It would mean being sent home, or even worse, sold off to someone else. Being caught might have gotten him killed. Jim's situation was far different from Hucks, and unlike Huck, Jim likely would have been paralyzed with fear and desperation. Had Twain told Huck Finn for Jim's point of view, it would no longer be humorous, witty, or entertaining.
