One example of a metaphor in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is as follows;

"lightning begun to flicker out from under his eyebrows so you wanted to climb a tree first, and find out what the matter was afterwards."

This metaphor illustrates the Colonel's fiery temper in Chapter Thirteen.
