Why does Linda visit Lord Byron's castle in the novel, Adultery?

After Jacob spurns Linda, she goes to Lord Byron's castle where she imagines how the novel Frankenstein came to be. Linda compares herself to Victor Frankenstein and his monster due to her behavior.
