What does Carl pray for once he and Rudolph enter the church in the short-story, Absolution?

When he realizes that Rudolph has not only committed several mortal sins, but lied to him, Carl becomes violent. He demands that his son attend church with him, confess, and take communion. During the service he prays for his son's forgiveness rather than his own.
