Who is Joseph P. Cleland from About Face?

Hackworth met Cleland in Korea where he was a general in the U.S. Army. Cleland was an inspiration to his men. He ran alongside them during training, visited the men who were sent to the front, always put forth a positive attitude, and was a great source of motivation. Cleland was best known as the Great White Father.
