Provincetown, an ocean-side community in Massachusetts, has for several years been a popular vacation spot, particularly for non-heterosexuals. The author visits there with Amaia, their visit echoing one made by the author's lesbian ancestor Pat and her partner Mina. The author's juxtaposition of the stories of two visits raises questions about the parallels between the experiences the visits of the two couples.
