Who is Bubba from A Drink Before the War and what is their importance?

Bubba Rogowski is a devoted friend of Patrick and Angie. Bubba has amassed a large collection guns and other weaponry, and he lives in an abandoned warehouse that is booby trapped against intruders. Bubba serves as Patrick and Angie's protector. He is later shot but survives.
