After Eddy completes his education in Amiens, he moves to Paris. Some years later, his mother also relocates from the village to Paris. Her new partner invites her to move to the city with him at the start of their relationship, but she is hesitant. Eddy encourages her to move on from her village life, and start fresh in Paris.
