Describe symbolism in A Very Long Engagement by Sebastien Japrisot

One important symbol in the novel is Celestin Poux’s motorcycle. The motorcycle is symbolic of the ways in which war changes people..... even if you think they're doing alright. Poux's motorcycle exposes the fact that he can't ever really settle down...... if he stops too long he will have to think about the war.
