Why is Lucien able to draw thousands of black residents from northern Mississippi to Clanton to demonstrate on behalf of Carl Lee?

The reason Lucien is so successful in getting black protesters to converge on Carl Lee's behalf is because of his reputation. He is known as the only white NAACP lawyer working on their behalf. Lucien has filed almost more racial discrimination lawsuits than are countable.
