What transpires as the forty Ku Klux Klansmen arrive to demonstrate at the courthouse where the black protesters held their vigil?

The forty Ku Klux Klansmen draw everybody's attention. There has not been a Ku Klux Klan rally in Clanton in anyone's lifetime. The number of black protesters quickly increases until there are proximately 400 present. A firebomb is tossed that ignites Stump Sisson, and a riot begins. It is subsequently quelled when deputies fire their sidearms into the air.
