What are some Jake's unethical practices?

Jake's unethical practices include making innumerable attempts to obtain Lester's phone number in Chicago, and finally going to the owner of Tank's Tonk to seek Iris, Lester's local girlfriend. He cleverly plants a seed to let Carl Lee know that Marsharfsky is unlicensed to practice law in Mississippi. He speaks with Lester directly, and they agree he will return to Clanton from Chicago.
