How would you describe Helen's parenting strategy?

Helen has little to no parenting strategy: she is content to let Jo ruin her own life however she sees fit. Helen lives on the edge and is constantly searching for the next fun times, so Jo is often left to her own devices, but Jo has not fallen into the trap of pubs, booze, and men like Helen.
