The wildings from A Storm of Swords are a group of people that have lived outside of the walls of settled men. They are not subject to the rule of law and elect no kings. They are more democratic in nature than those living on the other side of the wall. They have seen the wights and they know that mankind is doomed if they live on the wrong side of the wall. Eventually, they attempt to scale the wall to get away from the wights.
