Illyrio Mopatis from A Storm of Swords was Daenerys and Vyseris's benefactor in Mopatis. He was a wealthy merchant who took them in when they were in exile. Illyrio always had designs on both of them, and when he learns of Daenerys's rise to power, he sends Jorah, Barristan, and Belwas to assist her.
