Why does Hank call Jacob in the morning of Chapter Three?

Hank calls Jacob to say that they have to return to the plane to be certain they didn't overlook anything. Jacob, not yet awake, reluctantly agrees. Hank hides the money he plans to leave in the plane inside a garbage bag inside a baby carryall. He had decided that Jacob could not know, for fear that he or Lou would return to the plane and get the money.
