Mme. Aubain allows Félicité to bring her family over, but asks them to leave after only 15 minutes. She has clearly gotten the impression that Félicité's sister and her family are only interested in taking advantage of Félicité. Nevertheless, the request to have them leave so quickly seems callous and unfeeling. Félicité is understandably very happy to see her sister and it would only seem natural that she would like to see her for longer than a quarter of an hour. Mme. Aubain seems like she doesn't value Félicité's feelings or even maybe recognize them, which is strange considering Félicité's love for her and her children was strong enough to make her risk her life for them. Perhaps there is something about it that has to do with class and Mme. thinks of Félicité in that way because she's her servant.
