One of the last things that Félicité does is to tell Fabu she's sorry for suspecting him of killing Loulou. This offends Fabu, who never suspected she thought this. Since it's one of the last details before her death, it definitely seems like it's an important detail in the story. This seems to be the only thing that Félicité regrets or feels is unsettled in her whole life. She never accused him, but the weight of the accusation in her heart is too great for her to bear. This emphasizes her innocence.
