What is Elliot's role in the search for Ralston?

Elliot is the incoming roommate at the Spruce Street house. While the other roommates are at work, Elliot searches through Ralston's room for clues to get contact information on any of his hiking buddies. Elliot also steps in by manning Brian's emails and phone calls at Ute so Brian can manage the store.
