For days, Ralston reviews when each of his friend might figure out he is missing, when they call a search party, when the search party starts, when they might even consider Horseshoe Canyon, and finally when they actually might find him still alive. Ralston thinks it over nearly everyday of his entrapment, not really believing but hoping. When Ralston finally gets himself out, it is important for him to know what is actually happening during that time that may help his rescue.
