what is the relationship between aziz and adela?

Unfortunately for Dr. Aziz, Adela walked into his life. Dr. Aziz earnestly wants to befriend Adela but Adela is too self-absorbed and pathetically naive to navigate any personal relationship let alone with an Indian national. Adela's own repressed sexuality gets mixed up with her hallucinations in the Marabar caves and poor Dr. Aziz must pay the price for it.
