Zelda Fitzgerald was the wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Like her husband, she was a writer. Hemingway's portrayal of Zelda was for the most part negative. He sees her primary goal as the destruction of her husband. Hemingway says that Zelda encouraged her husband's drinking for no other reason than to interfere with his writing.
