In "Chapter 3," what makes Gikonyo want to visit with Mugo?

Gikonyo wants to visit with Mugo because of the time Mugo spent in detention camps. Gikonyo believes this time has made Mugo strange and quiet, but more importantly, he wants to bond with Mugo and receive advice since Gikonyo himself is recently released from a detention camp.
