In Chapter 13, why does Anna have a bad night?

Anna has a bad night. She misses being awakened by Hamish for his night feedings. Her mind would not let her alone. It endlessly replayed the scene between her and Tom. One moment they were enjoying one another and watching the stars. The next Tom was freezing her out.
