How has Tom's Huntington's symptoms progressed?

Tom uses a wheelchair now. It resembles a four-wheel-drive vehicle with its wide wheels for sand and beach-rock hopping. The wheelchair clips to the rear of his amphibious boat and allows him to go out over the reef edge by himself. He can fall backwards over the boat and swim.
