The play's main character is Nora Helmer. Nora is flighty, secretive, sensitive, and completely undervalued. Her outward appearance belies the concerned, loyal, and selfless person she is on the inside. Although Nora goes to great lengths to keep her actions a secret, we can see she is only trying to fulfill her role as the perfect wife.... something that can never be attained. In the end.... her husband wasn't worth the trouble.
