What is the author's style in A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron?

The language of the novel is simple and easy to understand since the novel is narrated by a dog.who describes things that he views from a very elemental standpoint using his senses like smell, sight, hearing, and the feelings he can sense about the humans in the book. The vocabulary is not very challenging but it fits the book. The sentences tend to be the right length for easy understanding and the book moves along at a good pace because it hold the reader's interest.
