Students often prefer approachable teachers because they are seen as more sensitive to the students' needs, easier to talk to, and go out of their way to make their students feel comfortable.

Because when a teacher feels approachable, students aren’t scared to ask questions, admit confusion, or share ideas. That makes learning smoother, less stressful, and way more effective. An unapproachable teacher might still know their stuff, but if students feel judged or brushed off, they’ll just stay quiet and struggle on their own. Basically, approachable = open door to learning, unapproachable = wall in the way.
